How should articulating paper quotations be compared?
Short answer
Compare quotations only after confirming that they describe the same product or a clearly documented alternative, use comparable order units, and identify what each price includes. A price “per box” cannot be compared with a price “per sheet” until the exact model's package quantity is confirmed. Keep product identity, quantity, charges and timing in separate fields. A lower quoted total does not establish clinical equivalence, quality or regulatory suitability.
Start with the unit, not the headline number
A quotation is difficult to compare when one line names a box, another names a pack, and neither explains the contents. Do not repair the missing information with a quantity taken from another model or supplier's page.
Ask what is being priced and ordered. If the answer is a box, record the confirmed contents of that box for the exact quoted model. If the answer uses a different unit, retain that original wording until the supplier clarifies it. Also separate the minimum order from the quantity actually quoted: a price for one order size does not automatically apply to another.
This guide is an information-organizing method, not an ASHUR price list or a statement about the packaging of any specific ASHUR model.
A comparison record that keeps unknowns visible
On small screens, scroll the table horizontally to compare the same row.
| Field | What to record | When comparison should pause |
|---|---|---|
| Product identity | Supplier-confirmed product and model reference | The model is absent or differs between the quote and supporting information |
| Material and specification | The exact description attached to that model | Separate attribute lists have been combined into an assumed variant |
| Order unit | The unit shown on the quotation | “Box,” “pack,” or another term has no confirmed meaning |
| Contents per order unit | Confirmed quantity for that model and package | Contents are unknown or borrowed from a different product |
| Quoted quantity | Quantity for each confirmed model | Only a mixed-order total is available |
| Charges included | Each amount explicitly included or excluded | Freight or other relevant charges are unstated |
| Timing | Quotation validity, product lead time and transport estimate, if supplied | A product lead time is being read as an arrival guarantee |
This table is an information-organizing tool, not a test result or order confirmation. See the source and scope note.
These fields are a proposed buyer worksheet, not claims that ASHUR currently offers every listed term or document.
Normalize only the values that are actually confirmed
For a specified order unit, an indicative product-only unit cost can be calculated as the quoted product-line amount divided by the confirmed quantity in that line. If comparing a smaller package unit, the conversion also needs a verified quantity relationship for that exact product. Without that relationship, leave the comparison unresolved.
Keep currency, the date of the quote and its included charges visible. Do not label a product-only figure as a delivered cost. Taxes, import requirements and other market-specific costs need separate confirmation; this guide does not determine them or provide customs advice. No example price or assumed package quantity is used here.
ASHUR terms relevant to the quantity check
ASHUR's approved public master records a minimum order of 100 boxes per model and support for mixed ordering. Mixed ordering does not automatically waive the per-model MOQ, and neither statement confirms a complete model list or every possible product combination.
For product descriptions, begin with the ASHUR Dental Articulating Paper page. Ask ASHUR to confirm the current model and order-unit relationship before completing a price comparison. This article is not a quotation, stock confirmation, discount offer or acceptance of an order.
Questions to send back with an unclear quotation
You can ask: “Please confirm the exact model, the priced order unit, the contents per unit, the quantity quoted for each model, and the charges included or excluded. Please identify any proposed substitution separately. I have left unconfirmed fields blank rather than assuming a product combination.”
That request does not need patient-identifiable information. Supply commercial details relevant to the inquiry, not clinical records.
Common questions
Is the lowest per-box price necessarily the lowest comparable cost?
Not without a confirmed unit relationship and a clear statement of included charges. Different products and quantities should remain distinct rather than being forced into one ranking.
Can two products be treated as equivalent because their thickness matches?
No equivalence claim is established by a matching attribute. Record the exact product and supporting information; this worksheet does not assess clinical performance.
Next step and related information
- Ask ASHUR to clarify a quotation.

- Review the product-selection factors.
- Check current distributor information.
Confirm your specific inquiry
Start with product information, then describe the specific quotation or repeat-order reference. Model, quantity and commercial terms still require confirmation.
